UPDATE: As a precaution, 17 students have been transported to nearby hospitals for further evaluation. District administration is continuing to contact families of those involved. Students that have been evaluated and cleared were taken to CMS and are currently being monitored by CMS nursing staff.

This morning, two of our buses were involved in an accident near 105 and 321. Students were on board the buses at the time of the accident and are currently being evaluated by EMS. There are no major injuries. District administration is contacting the families of the students involved. As with any accident, all students and staff involved are being evaluated by EMS to ensure safety. Student and staff safety is our #1 priority.

What is C.O.P.S.? Community On Patrol in Schools Cleveland ISD’s Community on Patrol in Schools (C.O.P.S.) is a volunteer program designed to involve parents, extended family, business partners and community members in a collaborative approach to reinforce safety and security in our schools. C.O.P.S. will provide an “extra pair of eyes” in our schools by serving as hall monitors, assisting with class changes, positively engaging with students during breakfast and lunch and encouraging them to make good choices. Volunteers must: 1. Pass a Background Check 2. Be 18 or Older 3. Have a Valid ID 4.
